“Butterfly Dance, Spring Flower” is a transparent and unwaveringly sincere piece that uses both light and shadow to express the relationship of its subjects.  Like the principal dancer of a well-orchestrated ballet, the eponymous spring flower of the piece stands in the focal point, drawing attention to its vivid colors.  As if in an arabesque, it poises boldly and elegantly in the middle.  Its allure is accentuated by the subtler yet boldly shadowed butterfly that is negatively engraved next to it.  Together they form a courtship, making an artwork that speaks of the spring season, expression, and eternal dance. 

蝴蝶蘭是「蘭花之后」，連達爾文也為之深深著迷，他曾在著作《物種起源》裡說：「蘭花，是生物演化登峰造極之作」。一般蝴蝶與花朵的尺寸是接近的，但此次設計中，將蝴蝶尺度放大，「大蝴蝶」意謂著「大福」。
